On how many toys at your home you find these words written on the box or packaging “MADE IN INDIA”.
Honestly at my home, a few months back, the percentage was very less. Recently I searched for good, sustainable, eco-friendly, durable, and Made in India toys. Based on the details in search results, It is found that there are very few players / small businesses which are in this field. They are taking a good number of initiatives, but the efforts being made are not enough. Because when you go in the market and search shops for open-ended toys which are sustainable too, woohoo…..shhh, here you face the reality. One can easily find that market is full of imported toys and Made in India toys are barely found.
Our country has such a rich heritage of traditional toys which is as old as 5000years old. Then what is that one thing which is holding us back in this field of indigenous toys?
Everything needs a change over time. And that’s true for toys too. We are still following the traditional ways of those wooden toys which are having all the good qualities like sustainability, durability, and eco friendly. But the thing which is missing is the “INNOVATION”.
In the words of our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, while he addressed the nation during the virtual Indian Toy Fair 2021, he mentioned that “we need change for good, we need new innovations in those old traditional toys”.
A little or complete make-over can make every household having the toy boxes with the mark/ tag/logo of Made in India toys. We at Orbkraft are proud to say that our every toy is MADE IN INDIA. Each toy is made through an eco-friendly process that has zero hazardous waste.
So next time you buy or gift your child a toy, we urge you to find a “MADE IN INDIA” tag on the toy. This will support small businesses which are taking initiatives in the field of sustainable and eco-friendly toy manufacturing.
